Cedar River ---> Great News!

Let’s hope they have the money to maintain a new park and not do like Independence, OR did with their park system.

Independace Voters rejected a property tax operations levy that was meant to stabilize funding for the city's parks, library, and museum.

Voters approved the renewal of the 2026-2031 King County Parks Levy on August 5, 2025, taking effect on January 1, 2026.

...and there's the rest of the story....

When I lived in King, I used the parks quite often, just like I do out here.

Great news for the area (and me as I'm just up the hill...).

Also - there restoration work they have done downstream of Rainbow Bend seems to be gaining traction. All the new braids have spread out the flows in that area and all the new trees and vegetation is starting to mature a bit. That section right next to 169 looks completely different than it did 5 years ago when we moved here.
