Can you post a video from your phone

I believe we can only make links to videos that are stored someplace else….like Youtube or whatever.

I’ve been unable to upload a video I’ve taken and stored on a personal device…..but I’ll let the pro’s weigh in…
 
Post on YouTube or Vimeo, you can set permissions, so it's not found on the sites. Get a link, usually just click the share button and paste here in a thread..
 
Another easy way is to sync your phone to Google drive / Google photos. The videos and photos you take will automatically store in those spots. All you need to do then is share the link here and it will embed the video.
 
That's what Dave Carlson Sr did but he accidentally shared links to highly volatile personal photos
 
It's not that we're against uploading videos to PNWFF, in theory. But videos take a ton of server storage space and it adds up really quickly. That gets expensive.

There's also the issue of scammers/spammers finding the site and using the video upload function to store pirated/porn/etc videos. Which then becomes a whole other hassle.

The easiest way to add a video here is just to upload it to youtube, paste the URL into your forum post, and then it will get embedded like this:

Just kidding. I learned something new again. I had no idea something like what you described is a problem. Sheese…what will be thought of next
