Several years ago I had a failure of some ancient Korkers and needed some cheap boots fast. Since I was over on the Madison where there is a fly shop between every boat launch I didn't have to drive far. What I picked up was a pair of cheap Chota boots, at least cheap considering where I was, and they came with the QuickLase™ system. This is not steel cable cable style but the stretchy lanyard stuff.
Well, those boots eventually wore out. They were pretty cheap. But the laces are still going strong and I just transferred them over to my new *cheap* boots. While I was there I noticed this:
