Bonus steelies. The good, the bad, and I'm ugly

Without going into a complete rant, suffice to say there is a trap and haul steelhead debacle going on in Central Oregon. A few weeks ago I was standing in the river, and a tanker truck unloaded 10 fish. Just like a tailwater fishery and the movie Dodgeball, these steelies are a bit of a guilty pleasure.

So, (not the same day) while nymphing for small redbands and whities I've caught two recently. Both took a Blowtorch. And yes, I have been bragging to my buddies that "I caught a steelhead!"

I used to catch huge brooders they’d dump into the Carson River when I lived in Carson City. They were old, and I spose near the end of their lives. I tried smoking one and it tasted like what I imagine hatchery pellets would taste like
