I ordered one of these today for a total of $269 including a donation to the Salvation Army. I had the unit on my Amazon wish list at $406 but there was no way in hell I was going to pay that! I got a hot tip that it had gone on sale and ordered it minutes later.

Those of you that have power stations (solar generators) that you travel with know that they can be charged with a vehicle's 12v outlet while driving but you have to drive for hours for that to happen. Charging is glacially slow from a 12v cigarette lighter type of outlet. Along comes the Bluetti Charger 1 DC to DC charger that is hooked up the vehicle battery- a simple installation-and charging speed goes up by 5 or 6 times with the vehicle running. You don't have to be a Phi Beta Kappa to realize that what used to take 5 hours to charge can now be charged in 1 hour.

This is great news for me as I can charge while driving and not have to depend on solar panels. I have 340W of solar for the Casa but it is all portable so I can park in the shade and extend solar panels into the sun. If I didn't have to use the panels at all my feelings wouldn't be hurt a bit.

Another upgrade for the Casa which now has 2500W of power with the addition of a new power pack. This week I mounted it under the bed where connections are really easy but the unit is completely out of the way. In fact, both units are out of the way and can hardly be seen until I get inside. They power an induction plate, my refrigerator, a small griddle, a coffee maker, an electric blanket, electric tea kettle, a small space heater and charge the phone, computer, several fans and lights and the Bluetooth music stuff. A lot of stuff in a small space but there is no clutter, even when fully loaded it still looks empty. I was reading about a new Mercedes Sprinter conversion this week that cost $256,000 and had about the same electrical footprint as the Casa. I'm not comparing my humble Casa to a quarter of a million dollar vehicle but it did occur to me that I could buy 6 Casa's for the price of one Sprinter!
