I got plenty of blobs, boobies and FABs. Never had a lot of success with them except for the net pen freaks on Roosevelt or Rufus. But I haven't fished them a lot either, because it feels so wrong......

I have had a lot of luck with boobys in BC lakes for triploids. Stripped fast on a fast sinking line. I don't think color matters very much, just high vis and small. The best material I have found is FNF Jelly, which is a fantastic "bump" material for steelhead flies

I don't like to use them in quality waters since fish seem to swallow them a fair amount. But for the local hatchery brats? Bring it on. If they swallow it I'll just bonk them and get the fly out when I get home.

I don’t tie them too often but thought I should for a cold weekend fishing trip tomorrow.

I’ve been using my own version (on the right) for years during winter months on Lone Lake. I like rabbit fur tails. That chartreuse works well this time of year, slow retrieved on a full sink line.
