The bigger bass will eat that too, but the smaller ones wont eat the big popper. Maybe the big one kept the small bass out of the way?I've got a question for you bassers. Does a bigger popper get bigger bass?
For the last week I've been fishing @Brute 's Chub, a smallish surface fly:

It's been constantly getting me little half pound LM bass both stripped in and trolled.
This evening I tied on a bigger popper and first cast caught a bigger bass, maybe two pounds. The a couple more a about 1.5lbs.
My bigger popper is much smaller than @Billy 's above. Do the bigger bass only move for bigger flies? The popper makes much more commotion in that water than the Chub, maybe that was the difference more than the fly size.
It's just strange to me that my small fly only caught small bass, when the bigger bass were right there all along. It's not that way with trout!
Thoughts?
On my local lakes, 100% big fly=bigger fish. Especially when it comes to poppers. And it helps keep the crappie and sunfish off the hook.I've got a question for you bassers. Does a bigger popper get bigger bass?

You know what's funny is if I see a big cruiser like during the spawn I'm sight fishing a small leech to it....I've got a question for you bassers. Does a bigger popper get bigger bass?
