I have seen a wide variety of shows at many SEA area venues. Some performances where I really appreciated both the outstanding musicianship and performance quality...
(more or less chronologically)
Chet Atkins with the Seattle Symphony
Pink Floyd - Moore (quad sound)
Tower of Power late 1972
Pat Metheny Group 1980 - numbers from As Falls Wichita..., Water Colors, White Album, Bright Size Life, New Chautauqua,... blew me away!
believe it or not...
Barry Manilow 1985 Copacabana (my wife is a fan) Coliseum, Manilow on piano & palm tree came up out of the revolving stage with an orchestra pit around the circumference. Band was tight! Terrific performance!
David Grisman Quintet 25th Reunion (with Tony Rice, Darrol Anger, Mike Marshall Todd Phillips) blew me away!
I've also attended quite a number outstanding stage musical, ballet, military band... musical performances featuring world class musicians, actor-singers & dancers

Missed my chance to see Hendrix when he dropped out of The Monkees tour before their August 24 1967 date at The Coliseum. My first concert. Course I was 11 so his genius may have been lost on me at the time. But hey, I saw The Monkees!
Hey, I  liked the Monkees!

I was a just turned 14 then.

Yeah, always wanted to see them.

Shoot, I bought tickets to three concerts last night. Metal Church in a small venue tomorrow night, Avenged Sevenfold Tuesday and Tool on the 19th! My ears may bleed.
The old singer for Metal Church used to come see my band play in Eureka, CA. He introduced himself the first time but kind of underplayed that he was a real musician. He was just kind of like "I'm in a band too, I like you guys." He finally said he was in Metal Church and I had no idea who that was haha. I believe he committed suicide a few years ago, very sad. He was a super nice, humble guy.

I was lucky to have seen some of the great bands of the punk era in their prime, and most were exhilarating. I saw The Clash, Elvis Costello, The Buzzcocks, The Jam, The Cramps (my first punk show), 999, Talking Heads, The Ramones, The Dead Boys, The Dils, Bad Brains, Johnny Thunders all in '78. '79 and '80 saw Stiff Little Fingers, The Avengers, Black Flag, The Dead Kennedy's, The B-52's, U2, and The Police (the latter two at a club about the size of a half of a basketball court in successive weekends).

Favorite live Band? Without a doubt, The Ramones.
I know jealousy is not a good quality...... but I am extremely jealous of you

Many Richard Thompson shows, from full dress Celtic band at the Old Church on a sweltering day to one featuring just himself and British bass legend Danny Thompson (Pentangle).

Wow, Altın Gün is amazing! I've been listening to them for a few years now but finally got a chance to see them live last night at the Commodore in YVR.

Queensryche: Operation Mind Crime at the hall in Seattle center.

Metallica: Injustice For All, Seattle Collasium.
Black album, dont remember where.

Savarage: Gutter Ballet at Mad Dogs in Northgate. tiny venue with about 500 people crammed into it.

Robb Halfords solo band Fight at Under the Rail. Loudest concert I have ever been to!

Sound Garden at the Off Ramp, under a different name.

Alice in Chains at the Rock Candy New Years Eve.

So many others!
I was at some of these shows. Right up against the rail for Fight @ Under the Rail. Roberto- So cool!

My brother, a buddy and I ripped 4 of these down outside the Wamu Theater after the show in '08. Large and really thick paper, quite a prize. As we made our way down the street, a guy stopped us, fuming, saying he should have the fourth poster. Simultaneously we told him fuck off and go earn one, the way we did. The nerve of some people!

Want to sell that ??? Huge raconteurs fan here !

Saw Adam MacDougall (Black Crowes, Chris Robinson Brothethood, Circles round the sun) and Isaiah Mitchell (Earthless) play together with 45 of my closest friends a few weeks ago.
Keyboard and guitar. It was pretty damned fantastic.

Missed my chance to see Hendrix when he dropped out of The Monkees tour before their August 24 1967 date at The Coliseum. My first concert. Course I was 11 so his genius may have been lost on me at the time. But hey, I saw The Monkees!
First concert for me was at the Barre VT auditorium in the early sixties. My best friend's Mom took us to see Joey Dee and the Starlighters of Peppermint Twist fame. The guitarist was a tall, skinny burned out looking guy who played a right handed guitar upside down left handed. Who da thunk.

First concert was Journey with Steve Perry, still my favorite singer. Later, the Doobie Brothers with Michael McDonald, along with Steven Tyler and Aerosmith. The best one Concert for me was Tina Turner at the Memorial Coliseum when I was 8 months pregnant with my daughter.

1987, four young punks in Vancouver for the Joshua Tree tour (19 yr old me at right). Seattle wasn't enough of a market to host such a tour - that would change in a few short years.

I had to drive up to Phoenix to catch the Joshua Tree tour, but went both nights. They filmed Rattle and Hum, so I'm part of history.

More recently, I saw X last year, and Peter Hook (Joy Division/New Order), and both bands are still incredible and authentic. Not like some of the polished nostalgia acts that feel like they're just going through the motions and doing their schtick.

Saw Bela Fleck and the Flecktones a couple of times, and they're always a lot of fun. @Brian Miller David Grisman opened and then played with them on the most recent tour.

X is one of my favorite US bands, saw them about 7 times since the early 80's...
Playing in Tacoma December 10th and 11th
