I vaguely remember going there once with my Dad, I was just a little tyke. What was the place like in its heyday?

My Dad always spoke fondly of it, think he enjoyed going there after a long day's work @ Sears & Robucks. For reference I was hatched in 1958, my Dad in 1925

Never made it to the original Ben Paris, but I have a bunch of the Old Ben Paris Hunting and Fishing Guides. They were published from the 40's to the 70's and are a great way to see what the fishing was like in the good old days. Ben Paris operated three combination restaurant, cigar store, sporting goods store and billiards rooms. Here's an advertisement...

The original space is now a hipster restaurant. I visited there a couple years ago for my birthday...

My dad would take me there for dinner before a Totem’s game. Remember the Totems?? There were cool taxidermy mounted fish on the walls, the one that impressed/scared me was the world record king salmon commercially net caught….126.5 pounds! It was over 5’ long and at that time waaaaay bigger than me……I didn’t want to fish in the salt after seeing that beast! Long time ago….
