Beautiful Afternoon on the River

This morning was cloudy and cold, but as the day went on I was watching the temperature slowly increase. By 2pm it had hit 40 degrees and the sky was turning blue with puffy clouds. With snow in the forecast for Wednesday, the familiar voice in my head said, “Don’t be a pussy, go fish, what the hell else do you have to do”, so I headed to the river. I tried a stretch that I had walked past many times but never fished before. On my second cast I scored a nice brown and ended up getting a couple more before moving down to some familiar areas. Ended up with 8 browns and a couple rainbows, nothing huge but perfect for the 10’ 3wt. Around 5pm the wind picked up and I headed home. The temps had warmed up to 55 by the time I left, all in all, a great afternoon.
