I stuck with watching the whole game. M's started to make a nice come back starting in the 5th. But leaving 11 players on base in the 5th inning and on makes it hard to win for sure. M's had their chances but fell short because of it...

Edited to add: Now Rangers are in 1st place and M's in 3rd. Every game counts so much in this playoff race..

Dang 11 players left on base is rough. Hopefully a spark is lit in their rear for tomorrow.
 
Right now the M's hitting is so bad they'd be better off leaving their bats in the dugout... How many 1 pitch outs are they gonna have tonight?
 
Scott is telling them to outsmart the pitcher when at the plate. You can see this when you watch Kelenic. Kid watched a fucking fast ball go right down the zone. The players back in July ended up having a players only meeting, and then JK broke his foot. After that they went on a tear cause they were swinging at everything. Even the announcers noticed, and they still had the same exactly strike out record but they were putting points on the board.
We need a scrappy team, and a manager who is not a complete pussy.
 
Meanwhile the Dodgers have yet another division title and have won the most games in baseball since July 1. When I started following the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1948 they were as miserable as the Mariners are now. But they improved, the Mariners have essentially stayed the same. Don't give up hope, by 2053 they may become a winner...

Wonder if the Dodgers are going to fold like a cheap suit again in the playoffs this year.

It’s nice to put on in the background while at the vise, working out, etc. Not a fan of the blitz screen changing/scrolling entertainment so many are accustomed to now. Baseball is a slowly developing dopamine hit, some teams slower than others 😭
 
My brothers favorite player. In fact so much, whenever on vacation with our folks as kids and we visited places with guestbooks, he'd sign it "Brooks Robinson, Baltimore MD". Since he was older, he ruled the TV so I ended up watching a lot of Orioles games as a kid.

Number one son and I met Mr. Robinson at a card show one time. He took the time to speak with us for more than a few minutes after his signing time was up. He came across as a true gentleman, I know I ma not alone with this impression.

Rest in peace Mr. Robinson
 
Watched him play as a kid. My favorite Oriole.
I had number 5 on all my uniforms in Little League.
He was as great a person, as he was a player.
Still have some old lineup cards I got from the dugout back at old Memorial Stadium (by bothering the ballboys after the games) with him at 3rd base.
Rip...
