Barbless Hooks

I am tying up a bunch of Carey Special variants. With eyesight not as good as it could be and reduced dexterity, I wish I had barbless hooks, preferably with a straight eye. Would make my life easier for sure...

Hard to find online. Microbarbs are not what I want either. Prefer 2x long in sizes 8 to 12.

Any suggestions?

Hanak 950 should work. I really like the Hanak hooks I've used.

There's also the Moonlit 401. I've never used Moonlit hooks so cannot vouch for them.

Search in Google- 2x long straight eye barbless hooks
Then hit the Shopping tab. Several options actually 👍

@skyriver wow! TYVM... In my research those brands did not even show up. They also do not show up in comparison charts.

Barbed and barbless are the same price for same model/style from same manufacturer. There is a big difference in prices between manufacturers and a lot has to do with hook quality. Since fewer manufacturers make barbless hooks, and the ones that do, generally, are the higher priced, it costs more...

Theflyshop has some Firehole barbless hooks on sale right now. $3 off a package and price is for 36 hooks (not 25)

Someone in the flytying biz once told me that it is more difficult to produce barbless hooks than barbed ones because the machine that makes the bend uses the barb the barbless variety is more labor intensive... thus more expensive.

Of course that was back when barbless hooks first hit the market so who knows what the case is these days.
