Non-Fly Bank Sockeye?

Been wanting to give this a shot. I've caught a few kokes but no sea-run sockeye. Too busy (again) this year, but at some point probably banking it below Bonnie.

And not to stir the pot, but I'm curious as to the reasoning that they are always flossed, when they clearly take spin-glows and bait? I mean, I'm sure it happens if folks are using super-long leaders, but I suspect this could be confirmed or debunked by running a two hook rig. Fish on leading hook would tend to confirm flossing. Not so much with on the trailer.

What I'm thinking of trying is an "attractor" device rig. Something like a hookless Cleo spoon, with a trailer bead/fly/shrimp nugget 16-20" behind. Basically use the heavy spoon as a weighted mini-dodger. If it worked, I'd tend to count anything caught as legit.

Anyone tried this?

People on the veddar always get bycatch on bobber and eggs targeting Summer Kings. Sockeye absolutely do bite stationary and moving gear, I think the problem is not enough people have developed techniques to get them to hit moving gear on a lot of water. My Sockeye hit a 36" leader in the Skagit
