Fished my 13' Sharpes spliced bamboo rod on a full-to-the-banks western washington river last month. This upper river run is not for faint of heart waders.

This is a hatchery run river and there were no smolts around so I switched from a brass tube fly and type VI 15' sink tip to a type III 15' sink tip and a size 8 treble hooked Orange General Practitioner to fish this shallow run.

Sometimes the stars align. This fish went home for dinner.
