Took my 6'9" 4 weight Constable Wallop Brook rod and JW Young 1A reel to a couple of North Cascade creeks this weekend. Here's to you Tim Cottage. This creek is bigger than many and has delightfully open banks...

Not sure why I bring a bunch of flies because I almost always end up with a size 14 Royal Wulff.

The white wing is easy for my old eyes to see as the fly shifts from shadow to light...

The cutts like the fly as well.

Dave, good on you and thanks for sharing. I grew up fishing so many smaller creeks with my father. He is long gone but I still cherish the time spent with him on skinny water. Nothing better and you seem to have so many spots to yourself and the dippers.

Tim was the guy who introduced me to Constable staggered ferrule fly rods. When I pick up my Constable I think of Tim. Here are a couple of Tim's constables (distinctive green wraps) at a cast around...

and Tim himself with some of the darkly flamed rods that he built...

Great rod, creek and adventure Dave. Yes, Tim was a big fan of Clifford Constable rods. His collection includes eight rods from the 5'9" Dart to the 8' Empress. He also has a fiberglass Sceptre rod made by Clifford Constable. It's quite the collection. One rod, a 6'9" wallop Brook still has the plastic still on the grip!
