The lovely and talented Mrs Westburg accompanied me on a trip to an alpine tarn. One of the steeper pitches on the way in.

There were snowbanks along the shore. I fished my Granger 8642 bamboo rod, 5 weight intermediate line, a claret bumble and a golden olive bumble and found quite a few rainbow from the 2025 stocking class.

Two more years and they'll look like these fish which I caught on my last trip to this place.

Dinner at camp after a 7 mile day. I'm a lucky man.

And a stop for breakfast this morning at Basecamp Books and Bites in Roslyn. "Why do you get the elk sausage scramble and I get the burrito?" The high country is open early this year. Get out now while the forest is still wet and there are no fire closures.
