Visited Twisp for a few days. After a slow morning on the Methow River we went into the foothills to avoid the heat and the innertube hatch. The creek was cool but not so much that wet wading was uncomfortable. I fished a granger 8040 Victory, Cortland Sylk 4 weight double taper on an old Farlows Grenaby reel, 3' furled leader and 3' of 5X tippet.

Pocket water fishing for brookies and cutts. Size 14 Royal Wulffs, Letort Hoppers, hares ear nymphs, hard bodied ant wet flies - everything worked.

I took 5 fish from this little pool on a hares ear nymph. This stream has 10 miles of water like this...

A stop for baguette sandwiches and coffee at Anjou in Cashmere on the way home. Life is good. Get out now before the fires start.

Nice outing, one of my favorite areas to be. I floated the Methow Monday. So many creeks and high lakes in the valley as well, hard to choose where to fish!
