Bamboo and fall cutthroat

Headed to a sea run cutthroat river yesterday. Heavy wind all day. We had to stop to clear the road once...



I and my friends each fished winston 9' 4 and 7/8's ounce 6/7 weight bamboo fly rods. They are great at making the long casts which this bigger river allows and have the backbone to handle a surprise steelhead while seeking the river's 12-20 inch cutts.



The three of us caught 10 searun cutts in a short rainy, windy day. A size 10 Dunkeld accounted for 7 fish. Have some gaps in my fly box to fill...



Tail: Golden Pheasant Crest
Body: Flat Gold Tinsel counter-ribbed with oval gold tinsel.
Hackle: Orange hen
Wing: Folded bronze mallard
Eyes: Jungle cock.

Interesting the difference in the signature wraps on each of the rods. I'm guessing that they were manufactured in different years. As always, great looking flies you have tied up.
