You have more than 1 ?
In post #1230 there is a second one hiding in the upper corner of the door. It stayed in the vicinity of the one on the screen for quite a while. The one on the screen has been a guest for three weeks now.

The moth put up a fluttering struggle but the mantis finally pinned it and went to work

After eating the head and removing the wings it went to work on the body.

The wife got us up last night and said the mantis was doing something weird. Turns out it was final molt time. Check out the wing buds.

And this morning full wings.

Checked the trail cam in the back wood last weekend and found we had a sturdy fellow visit us one Friday afternoon in July.

Our dog also showed up in the camera about 40 minutes earlier, just missed him!

Got back from my sons surgery in Seattle to find a mantis setup at the front door.

And the one out back is still there. Weird.

They like you. Hope the surgery went well.

I've yet to see a mantis around here this year. Enjoy the opportunity.

Hope the surgery went well.
It went very well we think, thanks. Rotator cuff. Got held up by the Elensburg fire for 2hr. Monday on the way over, then after the block wouldn't let his lung work so we stayed an extra night at UW Medicine. Quite the adventure.
