I got a camera out after I saw a Fox Squirrel that had been lying in the long, cool grass go somewhat berserk. As I watched, it suddenly leapt straight up into the air, landed, twisted, twirled, spun in every direction and finally bolted up the Maple tree like its tail was on fire. While I hoped to capture an encore performance, that didn't occur but rodent #2 was photogenic and also entertaining to observe. I'm guessing the 1st squirrel rolled-over on a wasp in the grass and got stung.

Hoping critter poop experts here can ID some scat we found on lower part of the property. Didn't have my cell with me so I'll post a pic later, but bear looks to be the prime suspect. Clearly carnivore/omnivore. Kinda dog like, and about large dog size, but appears to be some berry seeds.

Coyotes love eating berries, fruit, rose hips etc. My guess is coyote but I’m sure a picture will help narrow it down.

We had so many black widows in our house when I lived in Missoula. Thankfully, they find a spot and don't move around much. I would twirl them up with their web on a stick and toss them outside.

I had fun this morning watching a Douglas squirrel wrestle with an oversized green pinecone. It finally got it into the bushes and wasn’t too happy with my presence.

I work in the sierra mountains in hydro power plants that are around 100 years old +\- I am used to strange or exciting maybe crazy things happening out in the mountains but I went to walk out of the powerhouse and this was standing there.

There’s a tiny creek and gulch right below my house and frequently see does, fawns, and a tiny buck but this morning was the first time I’ve seen this guy in my yard.
