How do you pack your rod when you're backpacking in?
Do you bring your tube and sock? Just your sock?
Do you ever bring two rods in? If so, two rod tubes? or still, just two socks?
Historically, I've always brought my rod tube because I found the extra pound was a big security in case I tiredly threw my pack down and broke my rod (if it was just in the sock). But on a couple occasions, I've packed two rods (a 5wt and 8wt) and that was a big load with two tubes.
I was thinking about something like this for two rods? While it's not hard and foolproof, it's a bit better than just socks, and lighter than two tubes?
