Back pack float tube

The float tube has rings that I fasten the clips to. The seat side of the tube rests against the pack. It works well. Got the idea from @Bakerite.

Not sure how far I'm walking but some places I want to visit are very brushy with tree's down. Inflated could be an issue. That new outcast looks good but I can't find any video. I wonder how well it stays open.
 
Was in PFF today, hoping to see that new Summit. Ha I was dreaming. They are 110 % stocked up. Boats, float tubes Ect. No PNWFF stickers.
 
I have been doing alpine lakes for the last decade. Some hikes are 15 miles+ with a pack full of gear. The Uboat Super 2000 is my tube of choice. It’s durable and light compared to most other tubes. Weight can range from 6.5-8lbs. I owned the wilderness lite and returned it after one trip. It’s light and packs small, but I felt there was too big a trade off in durability and longevity in comparison to my uboat.

Which one did you own? The light one or the super light one?

I'm curious to hear more about the durability of the Wilderness light tubes.

15+ miles with a full pack of gear. I am not worthy! Perhaps if I had a “lite” tube I might hike further - with my Fat Cat about 2 miles is all this old fart cares to tackle. ;-)

I think I purchased my tube 5 years ago. I took a look at their page and it looks like the backpacker pro is probably what I had. I don’t think the tree line tube was an option at the time.

In terms of lightweight hard to beat these, but I decided the trade off for weight savings and what I deemed not as rugged as my uboat wasn’t worth it. I could purchase several of the uboat tubes for the price of one of the wilderness lite tubes. Just my opinion. I don’t want anyone to think I am dissing the wilderness lite tubes. They definitely serve a purpose and are something most other manufacturers don’t offer.
 
I own the wilderness lite tree line model. It is just what I wanted- I can take it anywhere. But it is specialized- it is a very light boat and I can't imagine using it for many things I use my bigger belly boat for. It has utility in smallish lakes, staying kinda close to shore, no open water... that is what it is for.
