So, in having discussions with several acquaintances and a couple of family members, I thought I should ask you all, since I care about you guys.

As we approach winter and have been talking about Super El Nino, again I want to ask are you Ready...

"BE PREPARED"comes to mind!

So, here are some very helpful resource links...

It's not just during winter, it is OUR responsibility to be self reliant for at least 2 weeks. We all live in locations that can be effected by natural disasters and at any time national or world events could cause temporary interruptions.

So, to help your family and yourself PLEASE BE PREPARED!

I'm always ready. I have 6+ months of food (long life stuff) plus tons of water (an area that's good with no power). I have light power that's loaded all day and can run all night (though I don't run them long at night). Them off course tons of propane stoves, ovens, and safe in door heaters. Plus a small wood heater too.

Oh I do have one funny story. About 15 years ago we were without power for a week. I was working full days. I taught both my kids, and wife, how to use all my propane stuff.

I walk on the door and my daughter was heating up snacks. I look at her and start laughing. She used my heater to try and cook food. I told her it's easier to use the propane oven (and all my stuff was already out and ready to use. Some where indoors if safe and outdoors if not). She preferred to sit inside where not than go out where it's cold. Them told her it's faster in oven and can set it in really quick and watch from windows to keep warm and see oven is cooking.

I'm reasonably well prepared. Good lake water and a filter, several weeks of food, various propane cookers, good first aid kits, lots of battery operated lights.

The one thing I don't have have is any way to generate, it sure large amounts of, power. I'm thought about getting some kind of battery unit and a small portable solar cell to charge it. Thoughts on that are welcome!

Best plan is to just join a group that is heading down to a local restaurant to set up shop in the kitchen. Cook all the food!!! Just break thru the windows and start livin in the OLIVE GARDEN
