Anyone use a Palomar knot for bigger flies (or gear lures)?

With brand new 50 pound braid I have managed to pull hard enough that the knot slips. Twice through might be overkill, but why not?

I believe you if you say it slipped. I’ve fished a lot of heavy lines and snagged a lot of bottoms in the salt water with braid and never had it slip.

I see many fishermen doing so much stuff that I deem unnecessary nowadays I am trying to respectfully and politely open these conversations. Fishing and especially fly fishing is loaded with voodoo shit people do to raise confidence but I do not think it matters. Finding biting fish you can present a fly to is what matters most. Some would say confidence matters most but like I said it can lead to practices that are a waste of time.

Love the Palomar. I used it probably 95% of the time with gear and maybe 50% with flies? I could probably use it more.
