Anyone have an empty Lamson Liquid Spool and a scale?

I'm trying to learn the weight on an older/discontinued Lamson Liquid (Legacy) empty spool. I am trying to buy a couple and found them used but the seller doesn't know their model, just says they weight 1.95oz.

If anyone has one (from buying their 3 packs and not lining them) and can tell me the weight, I'd owe you big time.

Even if you had the 3+ or 7+ model instead of the 5+ model, I could extrapolate.

I actually have 3 sets of them, 3 different colors bought at different times. I have an empty 5+ spool and it weighs 2.0 ounces. But I have some older ones, one of them is a size 2 it says on it, and the reels are interchangeable. Hope that helps. I will note the spool doesn't have the size but the reel cage does.

I checked mine and it also says 2 on the reel which surprised me, I thought it was for 5-7 weight lines. But I honestly hadn’t looked at the reel / spools in years and have never actually used them. But I weighed an empty spool and got 1.684 oz

Yep, I just checked and it’s almost exactly 3-5/8”, maybe a 1/16” shy of it.

That’s the measurement I got on both the size 2 and the size 5+. Then I switched the spools and they fit fine in both reels.



The black size 2 reel has the titanium colored size 5+ spool and vice versa. Totally interchangeable. I really like these reels, I’ve managed to buy the 3-packs on sale for $110 each time. Allows me to have a ton of different stillwater lines.

Thanks! Yeah I see the 5+ “remix” for $115 on sierra, and a couple spools on eBay for $80 - the seller didn’t know their size though, but they are supposedly 3 5/8” across.
