Idaho that is, north of I90. We’re looking at a property in Cocolalla and want to get a feel for the area. The shit show in the Puget Sound and I5 corridor is getting worse not better. Inslee and the rest of the politicians are taking the state down a path we don’t want to be part of anymore. But let’s leave that for know. I’m seeing a healthy fishing and hunting opportunity in the area. Sandpoint seems to be a good place for some “city time” if we want it. Otherwise there’s Hayden and CDA. Cocolalla lake is pretty interesting with lots of species. Any insight as to the area is appreciated.
 
Hi Roper - I will shoot you a msg tomorrow when i free up for a few minutes. I used to live in that area so have a bit of intel.
 
A good friend of ours from “the working days” moved to Hayden about 7 years ago. Their daughter and son in law followed a couple years later. They love it, somewhat rural, but still with enough conveniences to not feel isolated .
 
If I was not dug in so deep here I would be following suit. This isn't Washington state anymore. It's some version of it in not into.
 
If you're up for a true 4 seasons area, or plan on wintering in a warmer climate, I think it would be a good choice.
Sandpoint is close with all of the day to day needs and C'da, as well as Spokane, are close enough with excellent medical should the need arise.
I have a friend that fly fishes the lake regularly and he says that it actually fishes pretty good.

When I was in Jr high I went with my dad to help him at an art show in CDA. After the show we were going fishing on the Lochsa and Selway then into Montana on the Clark fork. It was summertime and we were going to be camping so we shaved our heads before we left. When we got there we found out there was supposed to be a huge neo nazi parade in town that weekend :LOL: it didn't happen and we were the only skin heads we saw... awkwarrrd.

I mean, that's what his post is about. He's workin on it. The initial post was done respectfully and stated a simple opinion. We don't need to turn it in to a debate or get our feelings hurt. No place is for everybody, and I'd totally see why Idaho has an appeal to some and WA/OR wouldn't.
 
Seems like a great place for opinions i agree. Putting a couple of mine out there.
 
Back in the day State Line Idaho was an attraction for WA college students. Cruises on Lake Coeur d'Alene were also popular with the college crowd.

Since the 70's Coeur d'Alene seems to have grown into more of a suburb or commute for the greater Spokane area.
And Wallace, well let's just say "What happens in Wallace stays in Wallace".
