This year it was by far the longest one so far, starting on the 6th and going to the 18th. The cast this year consisted of @iveofione, @Buzzy , @Islander , @Tim L , and @Scott Salzer . Ive was the first to arrive followed by Tim. He brought a kickass breakfast of biscuits and gravy, what a great start to a day of fishing. Fishing was hit and miss depending on what lake we hit. Some old favorites flopped really bad. Weather was erratic also, wind being a challenge sometimes. As others arrived we headed out in search of what the lakes had to offer.
One of the standards held a mix of large carryovers and a new bunch of “footballs”. The newcomers should be a riot come fall. At first the old “pigs” were few, but finally showed up.

Another frequent flyer still put out lots of good size, colorful flash. We each have our favorite spots on the lake and head straight to them. It’s a large lake with different feels for given spots.

One secret lake, not sure of the number, held one hell of a surprise for Islander…

Days passed and we ran back and forth to ones that produced fun fish. I encourage others to share their experiences and photos.
Meals are a great part of the Fling. Buzzy brought a delicious sausage and vegetable stew that we quickly killed. Steve brought tamales from Cody that a local woman makes, spicy pork or chicken and cheese. They went fast too. Steak night is a standard now, but we made Steve sit by himself, just kidding. Another night I grilled chicken thighs and all the fixings. I even managed bacon and eggs one morning. We never go hungry…

This may max out the post…let’s see…
