Interesting, I've started messing with Angelus leather dye myself. Yours really creates a nice tone.

Here’s a 30’s Granger Champion rod and a Hotrod stained to match with that walnut stain. This is a Granger Hotrod they didn’t make! It started out as a 9’ Top Flyte from wetline Dave, ended up as a 8’ Granger Hotrod.

Mark, these Hotrod fiberglass ferrules are just a piece of a donor rod. Not tapered like other fiberglass ferrules. You need to ask makers of blanks how to do it……

Ahhh thanks though. I might have an old donor rod I can sacrifice if the diameter works. Cool hybrid build. Ill be curious how it fishes.

Finally got back on the water today…..devirginized the new Hotrod! 9 fish to the net doesn’t so bad for this time of the year, but today I can say I C&R’d at least 18 pounds of trout! Two hog broodstock, one 4-5 lbs and another 6-7 lbs! A little beat up but better than some I’ve caught. Worn tails and noses but still full of fight! Several in the 2 lb range…..all on a wet line. Lots of others on the lake due to the break in the weather and no ice! Unfortunately nothing on top…..
