I remember seeing a list somewhere of questions often asked of park rangers...such as "Any new mountains lately?". So it's understandable that NPS has a rather well-founded opinion regarding park visitor intelligence.

The annual buffalo/moose stompings, bear charging/maulings, falling into hot springs, and selfie pic plummeting off cliffs further supports that opinion.
