anchor rope

on all my boats - surplus anchor line is fed into a suitable sized rubbermaid type container on deck. And I never tie off the end, instead it's fed through two cylinder foam floats and tied of with a knot, so if I need to be off anchor as in right now I free the line from the jam cleat and throw everything over the side.
Couple weeks ago I was at a deep water lake which has plenty of double digit fish, lotta wind chop so was dangling a couple of bloodworms on the end of a type 7 in about 40' of water when a big pig took it and began churning cross lake....threw the anchor line over, chased it with my Minn Kota until I caught up..tug of war, the 2x tippet held, the hook didn't and straightened out.
