I agree. Scares the shit outta me.
Considering how easily manipulated people are, and how little they care whether something is real or not for the most part, this is a VERY effective tool for propaganda. It's already being used far, far more than people realize. Social media is loaded with it and most just plain don't have the savvy to know, or let's face it, care if something is real or not, so long as it suits their bias.
Even worse: All the gaslighting and all that is going to lead to people saying "nu uh!" Even when a REAL video or photo is presented if it doesn't suit their narrative or bias.
Gonna be a rough ride ahead it's lookin like.

These tools are quite incredible in the quality of videos they can produce. I'm concerned just how quickly they evolved. And, they're only going to get better.
We may not have to worry, because they'll improve gaming and porn so much that many people will never leave the house. Finally, fewer people on the water and more fish for the rest of us!

The original post definitely drove my point home on how good AI is even in its infancy stages. It will only get better. Sure is scary.
One of the TV programs I watch weekly puts up a disclaimer "AI Generated" where ever it is used. I appreciate that a lot. In a year or so, the disclaimer could be "All AI Generated" or no disclaimer at all.

In my opinion we are witnessing the greatest propaganda instrument the world has ever known. Television was a big one. This is bigger. Humans are not armed against what they want to believe at all. This is likely the most frightening tech next to nuclear we have witnessed in human history.
