SFR AI imagining...it's fun!

Sorta fishing-related
it’s junk. Pure junk.

Bad for the environment
Bad for our energy prices
Bad for employment
Bad for actual artists

And in this new age of "misinformation" - read just straight lying - it's really bad for educating voters.

As much as I dislike it, I really hate the way they are trying to force it down our throats. Writing an email? Here's a suggested response. Searching for some information? Here's what our computer thinks.

In a world that now has smart appliances where people are paying subscriptions for cars, dryers, and ovens this is just one more scam...
I agree with all of that, but I have to admit some AI can be funny…3692318871113299764.jpeg

Anyone that is not concerned about AI is not informed.
Clear Lake has some big bass that eat frogs. I like to use AI to make images. Trust me folks, it's fun and easy. AND... IMHO, a fun way to dip your toes into this whole AI crap thing.unnamed-23.jpg

Yes, we can "create" images now.

I knew we should not when I read about human creativity being devalued, potentially replaced and human Identities stolen with virtually no protections. A terrible theft and hence the devaluation of the real that so many in creative disciplines spend lifetimes or portions of their lifetimes managing, honing and defining those individual skills and proficiently developed by personalities We seem to love and value. Individuality is a beautiful living breathing reality.

So many people will have their entire lives up ended by AI.... Not in the next few years, but in the next few months. Photographers, artists, graphic designers etc.. Then the legal people and the accountants ..AI will be far superior to humans. Just look at my above image of a Bass eating a frog. It was impossible for me to make that image until just a few weeks ago... now? I made it in less than half an hour without even knowing what I'm doing.
But I do like that image.

This is going on, but those of us who know AI will adapt. Technology has always made jobs unnecessary and we have to adapt and find something new. I've been laid off 5 times, changed careers at least 5 times and am still here kicking! My next endeavors are writing a book and setting up a small business. I've used AI in both, but it's just a tool! No doom and gloom for me. Just have to adapt and move forward.

AI can't create the way a human does. If you know what to look for you can tell. I for one won't buy art that is generated by AI. Is it getting better, yes..is that a good thing.. maybe. We'll use it to a point, but it will just be a tool and some will misuse it. We'll end up rejecting those that do.

“AI will be far superior to humans.”
That is utter bullshit. And it does not stop with creative endeavor replacement.BTW your opinion stated … mine has been shared. I am fine with that.

The absolute worst thing about AI is the ability to mimic reality with regard to information. All you have to do is spend a bit of time on social media to see how it is being used to blur, or even obliterate the line, between fact, and fiction. Once people can't agree on what a fact is, it is impossible to discuss the merits of something, because we can't even agree on what the something is. The political arena is just brutal for the use of AI "facts", that people are supposed to use to make informed decisions. This use of AI is continuing to divide us, planet wide, into us vs them camps. From what I can see, this is going to get much worse. Scary times IMO.

Just assume everything you see on social media is false! Trust but verify! And know your sources.. is it someone you actually know.. do they stick to the truth.. this has gone on in one form or another throughout history! AI can fill the void if we let it, but it doesn't have too. Or cats chasing yarn, women dancing the "hot dance" move of the week.. the ice bath challenge! Yada, Yada, Yada!!

Or just stop using algorithmic social media. It's a net negative despite it giving the illusion there's still benefits there. I deleted it all almost 10yrs ago and have been far better off mentally. I've even stayed in better, more meaningful contact with friends and loved ones without it.

AI pictures are a novelty for the common man.
Kinda like the 1st time a guy walks into a strip club.

Ok.....I've seen it....... time to move on.

I use it less and less, but have many that I interact with on it. It definitely has gone downhill and will be replaced. Younger generation don't use it and as bad as Meta is things like Tik Tok, X and others really suck. I tried Blue Sky too.. Just not for me. I do get your point though!

Ok, going to "play" here just to make a bit of a point about why this tech doesn't excite me.

Here's a coho I got last October on the Columbia.

And here's a "remake" I had AI do for me telling it "take this photo and remake it into a similar but different shot." Crap, it might have an adipose fin 😇

So now we live in a time where someone could easily go in and make a fake trip report full of AI-generated photos, and it'd be believable for most. This sucks a lot of what makes a real photo, or piece of art, special and unique. Someone spent time and put in effort to take that photo and wanted to capture something that was special to them. With AI, you type in a few prompts and it spits something out that means nothing to anybody.

Exactly...

When you prompt an AI system to make an image, you're not making it, a computer is...you haven't 'created' anything...it's all fake...

Hope this helps !!
