AI generated pictures

That last photo @flybill posted has a interesting looking reel. It looks like a Ari T Hart reel mated with an Abel arm.
The connection to the rod itself is interesting.

I too spent a lot of time in the darkroom and hate that you can't believe images any more. That said, I saw a picture on FB of a girl I went to high school with that AI had redone. She was already really attractive but in this image she was smokin' hot! Double edged sword indeed.

Beer goggles have been around for a long time. Just as effective.

Here's my tin foil hat fear. AI has shown remarkable ability to tell what people are thinking by reading brainwaves.

Combine that with new (not yet existant?) technology to read brain waves from a distance, and our new AI overlords will be able to tell what we are thinking of doing, before we do it. Good luck accessing the server room with intent to do harm in that scenario. Real time feedback from inside the listener's head will allow AI to craft finely-tailored listener-specific persuasive messaging. Maybe there will be a use for tin foil hats after all?

Orwell had thoughtcrime ahead of his time as well. Thoughtcrime is already basically illegal socially. You don't need to detect it. All one needs to do is accuse someone of being a heretic or witch and the burning takes care of itself. Media and social media takes care of the flames. One need not be accurate in their accusations, only socially accredited. McCarthy, the red scare one and two, social media and media presently are all examples of accused thoughtcrime without proof. Proof is vestige of legal systems while society levies judgement well ahead of time.

I don't fear technology though. I do fear the almost universal unethical use of it and man's inadequately evolved mind and society to deal with it. You can learn allot about the evolutionary state of man by observing how social media was received and is being used. I expect AI to be abused more fully and understood by the layman even less. Bring on the dystopian dark red hued world to come. New Tokyo needs more grist for the mill.

when I was building data centers, our Tier 3's were boxes within boxes within boxes...cameras everywhere, on site armed response, mantrap corridors, badge and hand biometrics outer boxes, retina readers on the inner sanctum, all interior drywall installed over stainless mesh, etc.
Gave a tour of our completed latest, a joint project with the DOD, in attendance with the CEO, Attorney General Ashcroft, FBI Director Rober Mueller and others, the CEO talking about our redundancies and how bulletproof we were.
Sure we were..on site. Want to disable a data center without ever getting near it? Find the fiber vaults in the streets and sidewalks miles away that those T3 lines are running through, plasma cut the hatch, melt down those fiber bundles inside=dead data center to the outside world.
The hiding in plain sight secret that is rarely discussed in the IT world...

You guys should get Starlink.

Request: two old guys, one with a beard, fly fishing with a nymphing rig and big red bobbers for steelhead on the sol duc river while smoking cigars and drinking scotch

I decided Salmo_g and I have been out for a while chasing steel! That was a hard one, took a couple of tries.. you guys can vote for the winner. May try again, but have to work on the words I use. Cheers!

PS: I'm the guy in the hat, since I'm aerodynamic.. not bald! LOL!

What? No Leland?

I'll have to do one chasing Sea Run Cutthroat trout on the beach with all 3 of us napping after cigars, scotch and catching many fish on the popper!
I think it's only fitting. We had such a good analog version. Let's see if the machine can satiate the wants of aesthetics in men any more efficiently. We gotta use this technology for good and shun that which might dement the ghost in the machine for evil.

Waiting Bill……
My first attempt, I like the flying fish, I think that's what the AI is interpretating.. Interesting choice for the "fly rod" too.. need to describe that better.

Heading to work today, first day, on a short term contract. Have to head downtown to Pioneer Square for a morning training session.

Cheers!
