Agressuve Warm Water Behaviors

Greg Price

Steelhead
7" Largemouth - As I was about to remove loose streamer from it's mouth, the little beast started chomping down and had it half way to it's stomach before I could reach in with hhemosates to remove it. Made impressive crunching sounds as ir was chomping with it's mouth of ddeah.

10" trophy Croppie. Spit small jig out of it's mouth while in landing net, then proceeded ti try to kill by chomping down on it. Had to remove the jig form the aggressive fish in landing net.

Gotta love these aggressive fish.

Any one else witnessed this with your warm water catch?

Years ago, gear fishing with my sisters from a boat: I was playing a large northern pike to the boat, and as my sister Jane reeled up she said "Oh! I have a fish too!"
It came out of the water with BOTH lures lodged firmly in its toothy maw. It attacked her rapala while fighting my line!

This was the incident that convinced me that fish do not feel or react to pain the way a mammal would

Fish are not very smart...remember this next time you're outsmarted by one.
😉

My fishing buddy an I have had that happen twice, once with a walleye!IMG_0766.jpeg

Last weekend, hooked an 8 inch bass to boat, but there was a 20 inch bass chasing it, nipping it's tail and trying to steal mini crappie jig fky. So I put the 4wt in tod holder, and threw a bigger streamer at big bass. No luck. Small fush unhooked itself and both fish disappeared.
