Adding a scarf?

I used a neck gaitor a lot when I used to ski, but the area at the bottom of my neck got cold because it wasn’t covered up between the gaitor and a sweater.
I used a dickie, but turtle necks are too tight. Here’s s combination of a neck gaitor and a dickie4BA7DCC7-7863-4DF6-A1F7-286C2695A9C1.jpeg

I use a buff when skiing to do just this.

There is a guy at our local hill who skies in a waxed duster, cowboy hat, and scarf. I think that's the look I'm chasing

We all have a purpose in life. I think mine was to influence a fishing forum to show you can blend form with function.

There is no reason we can't look nice while out enjoying a day on the water.

Are you doing a single wrap with long tails? Double wrap with short tails? Folded and single wrap? Folded and both tails passed through?

Lately I've been doing the "loop it."

Fold scarf in half, drape around neck, pull ends through loop, done.

You need to do more buswhacking for steelhead.. no trails, no real idea where your going, just rain, devils club , dirt under your fingernails and fir needles in your hair cause you lost your hat in the blackberries a mile ago :)

Rock climbers and hikers say never trust the vegetation, a steelheader says trust the vegetation or you won't get anywhere.

It has a way of causing problems. I saw it when little at Mt. Pilchuck, and then several times later at Stevens pass, get a scarf or something caught on a tow rope and dragged up the hill by the neck. People get things caught getting off the lift as well. Just what we were taught, loose clothing and mechanical equipment have a potential for danger.

That my preferred method as well, especially with a low bulk, but wide scarf. The ends tuck nicely into the peacoat and are easy on/off.
