A trip to the dentist

Well, I went to the dentist today to get a cavity filled. Rather, an old mercury amalgam filling removed and a new filling installed. And as I was snarking up the ol' nitrous, I started to think about fly tying as the dentist turned on the yellow light and started placing something. Turns out they use some kind of composite material cured by some specific wavelength of light to build a basically new tooth.

We gotta have some dentists around here...Has anybody used this stuff for fly tying? Amazon seems to sell it at a price that looks fairly competitive to UV Cure coatings. I wonder how it would work for clousers and the like....

No it won't work. Dental resin is super viscous like lots of dense particles for increased compressive strength. Uv resin is thin to penetrate thread and fibers and cures clear. Tooth colored resin has no use in tying. But the tools are great and dentist loops for aging eyes.
