A juxtaposition

I know, I'm sorry. Didn't come off well. I know plenty cool boarders, and jerk skiers like myself.
I'd help you back up if I ran into you.

In all seriousness though, starting snowboarding back in its infancy, the vast majority were looked down upon just because it was just different, nothing more nothing less.

I can't remember how many times I got yelled for doing the exact same thing as everyone else....using gravity to take me to the bottom of a mountain on a waxed plank attached to my feet. I just had one while most others had 2.

Then I started teaching it for a couple of years at the tiny place up in the Blue Mountains. I like to think I helped change some of the negative attitudes towards snowboarders in that moment in time.

🍻

That's cool that you taught, I've been thinking of getting back into that in retirement, but really I just wanna play.

Wasn't so much the snowboard as it was the baggy pants, usually falling halfway down the boarders arse 😝.

Cheers

Snowboarding since the mid 80s. The problem I have with other snowboarders, they would go on a run they were not able to ride correctly, sliding down the run on their butt and the board turned sideways plowing all the snow down to the base.

And more than one group of skiers took off their skis and walked down THE MIDDLE of an icy black run last winter. On one hand ya gotta learn, but it leaves things difficult some times.

Surprised it only took 3 pages to go from BT speakers while fishing to snowboarders vs skiers

😆

Waiting for the traffic jam complaints ...and subwoofers.

don't have eyes behind me..."hold the line" is one of the most ridiculous things the guy who could actually see the guy in front of them to say...
