I watched this video on one of the other sites. I guess if it's really hot the reel blade is a great way for some cooling spray. I don't fish without (sun)glasses so that reel blade would drench my glasses, carp do that often enough! ;-) Fascinating video and I'm sure I'm not the only one looking forward to more of your posts.

Good point, Jim. Unless I’m wadin across a deep spot, I don’t wade much deeper than top of my knees.

Me too. An inch or two above the knees is what limit myself to these days. Done going the river crossings unless it’s foot or below. Just done !!!!

Only a handful of very experienced anglers are comfortable wading that deep.

For most people, it's not only risky, but it also makes casting difficult enough that fishing effectively becomes a challenge.

The vast majority of anglers either stay on shore or wade only to about knee depth.

Ehhhh...........if it makes it more enjoyable for someone, all the more power to you.
Sometimes my ancestral peers come up with some unique ways of amusing themselves that I don't understand.
Always fun to have a fish on the end of the line!

I think the main reason why I wade so shallow (besides being a senior citizen) is that I lose my height advantage above water lever in spotting fish............... a carpin' buddy of mine is seven inches shorter than me, I think my height is an advantage in spotting fish.

At any rate, I have enjoyed watching you and your fishing friends wade deep, make really long (and accurate) casts.
