To our country, not me. I'm a little behind on reports since I'm not sitting at a computer a ton.
We had the pleasure of house sitting in one of my favorite places of the state with some friends of ours for the 4th (the whole week). Some fishing was done, some barbeque-ing, some swimming, and thank god, no fireworks (did I mention I'm a curmudgeon that hates fireworks?).
I got to fish a few times and caught some nice fish (this is definitely one of those rivers where you don't need to catch fish to have a good time).
I got this guy.

On this fly.

Inches from the bank in this little micro eddy. This is one of those spots where it pays to know the river well. It's a super small spot (maybe 4-5' long) and it's just upstream of a more well known hole that people tend to focus on. I was having trouble getting the redsides to eat my spinner at ~7am and before I headed to a different spot, I threw on ant knowing there is ALWAYS a fish in this eddy and sure enough it ate second cast. Bingo.

Another pretty fish caught later in the day.
