500 Steelhead back to Reiter Ponds

This is incorrect, they haven't released Skamaina summer runs in over ten + yrs. The broodstock from the South Fork are genetically NF summer runs now that the Skamaina genetics have been breed out. Hence the pathetically lower and lower counts every year since the change.

If anyone thinks this an improvement is woefully uninformed or just stupid!
Like those fucktards from the Wild Fish Conservitory, they deserve to be keel hauled!
The wdfw sure doesnt seem to think the SF fish are north fork origin...

And the only paper on the matter concludes they are more closely related to skamania fish than NF summer runs.

Looking through old escapement reports, it appears that Summer/Winter escapement in the past 4 years have been relatively similar (Maybe time for me to brush up on my R/Excel skills and do an actual statistical analysis...). I did not realize that Summer plants were roughly a fifth of winter plants. Is there a reason winter smolt mortality would be so much higher?

I suspect that at least part of the explanation is the lack of access to those summer fish due to reduced summer seasons due to Chinook concerns.
