3wt Intermediate Sink Line?

I know it’s not ideal to use a sinking line on a 3wt but can anyone recommend one that might work? Doesn’t look like there’s many, if any, options available.

Or, would I just be better off overweighting with a 4wt? Using a 7’6” TFO Pro 2 3wt rod.

I’m just gonna use this on lakes for trout in the 10 to 14 inch range max. I know the five weight is more ideal, but I wanna try out the 3wt if possible with the shorter rod.

Thanks, Jim

I couldn’t find a 3wt full sink line and had been using a sink tip for the last couple years.

A couple outings ago, I decided to give the overweight route a try. I lined an Echo Carbon XL 3wt with a 4/5 full sink I had laying around and it works fine. I’m away from home so I can’t verify the line but I’m fairly certain I put on a Type 3.

That's good to here. That might be an option for sure.

I used to have a cortland clear camo in 3wt and it was a very nice line.
edit I just looked and it looks like I was probably using a 4wt line on my 3wt.

I've got a 5wt Camo and really like it. But, I don't think they make the 3wt any longer. Can't seem to find one. I think it's generally a line weight heavy so a 4wt would be too much I think?
