Sorta fishing-related

I thought we had such a thread but apparently not. Or I can't find it.

Our son got a 3D printer from his uncle a few months ago and we've been playing around with it. I've used it for a few random things, but finally getting around to doing some fishing-related stuff. By that, I'm giving the teenager projects to print out for me ;)

Just ordered some PETG filament the other day since that's what you're apparently supposed to use for things you plan to get wet. Started off with a tuna birdie for putting back in my albacore spread.

Next up is a bit of sanding, then paint, then epoxy coat.

Post up your fun things you're doing.

Is it waterproof?

I think this is the trolling bird model I'm going to stick with. Going to print a few of these and paint/seal. Mostly having to decide how "dense" I want them. They troll fast enough that they don't necessarily need to float, but I don't want them to spend more time underwater than skimming the surface/splashing.

I had a bunch of aluminum frames... now thanks to this 3D tech I have fully functional spare spools. Work like a charm!

The spool caps are even superior to the original all aluminum ones that often lock up. These are much easier to grab and turn.

How'd you go about getting the files for those?
