3 shorty Hotrodz….

A generous fellow member sent me some fixer upper bamboo rods for some winter projects. I’m using the mid/tip sections to make 5’7” 4-5 weight Hotrodz. I stained two with walnut stain, and so far have 3 of 7 coats of Tru Oil applied. Out in the shop I have some champagne corks glued and ready to turn. I need more bamboo rodz like I need another hole in my head….. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Ok….a sneak peek just for you clarkman. And yes, they’re post WW2 Japanese rodz. Cleaned up nice and fairly straight. Some of these make pretty decent fishing sticks. The box didn’t hold up to USPS…..

Dark stain applied, seven coats of Tru Oil done, champagne cork grip made, guide feet filed and ready to wrap. Should make a decent fishing stick!
