2022 Garden Thread

Any bigger and I would be a garden slave in my own yard.
Oh wait....
Nevermind

Pics always make it look bigger than it is, lawn is a 40' diameter circle, and beds around it are about 12 feet deep, so manageable for us.

Birria is pretty good...

Thanks
It was a 2 drink garden tour last night...
Lol

Plants are cool...
Love playing with them, and watching them develop. Of course, I wish I lived in just one zone warmer, zone 8 would be perfect, but just like the boat 2' longer, eventually I wpuld want a different zone.
:)

Well they are really good at reproducing
Seeds when they can
Vegetative when needed
Turning into hermies if they have to
Fun to look at
Awesome to eat
Have I missed anything??

I divide a lot of the more aggresive perennials every year or two, donate a bunch to the local plant sale, sell a few to friends.
In 2018 I planted 5 monarda o got at a local plant sale, from those original 5 I've donated over 75 back to them, and sold probably 30.
Lol
We still have about 20 in 1 gallon pots we cant get rid of, so they get watered and this fall got to move them out...somewhere.

Monarda is awesome
Saw it in your hummingbird post
I dig the way they send up another flower within the first
Very cool

Yeah its in the mint family, square stems are common to the group.
It's now getting to be Lily season around here, we like that time of year.

Finished up the garlic harvest yesterday. Svea on the left, Spanish Roja on the right. Also planted Incellium but was too late in my harvest for bulbs. They all split open exposing individual cloves (bottom pic). I’m not disappointed with the size of the cloves even though I know they won’t keep long. I’m thinking I’ll either process into garlic chili oil or straight roasted garlic.
