Back to mariners hate?
I was thinking this was the mariners bitch thread for some reason, so ya I was being sarcasticAbsolutely NOT!!!
Did you not hear the fans chanting "Lets Go Mariners", "Lets Go Mariners", "Lets Go Mariners" after the team lost the series to the Astros who have been to the playoffs the last 6 seasons (I believe). That is some great and classy fans who understand the Mariners did better than expectations, played their hearts out, showed what could be special in years to come.
Now only if others could learn from those fans who showed what being a committed fan does and shows the appreciation to the players they truly deserve.
Yes. The Astros were trying to win.I was hoping the Blue Jays would go deeper but not upset at the Mariners because the Jays lost moreso than they were beaten.
Cannot in any way cheer for the Astros. Some could say the years they stole signs are over and many of that team are elsewhere or out of the show entirely. And even though I think Dusty Baker is an honourable man, when a team wins a championship it changes a lot of things for that team and it's future decisions.
The aftermath of that ill-gotten win still affects today's team. Not one of those players were penalized. It all fell on the coaching staff even though the players were in it up to their necks. Cheating in baseball isn't unusual by any stretch. But the Astros franchise is tarnished because of it. Is that win much different than the White Sox thrown series of 1919? Eight players then were found to be involved. It was the entire team in Houston.
A subset of Mariners fans treat him so poorly. The results haven't been what he or us hoped they would be, but he is clearly talented and his process is getting better. He is still only 23 years old and so far his career looks REALLY similar to Kyle Tucker's at the same age. Always remember that hitters typical peak in the 27-31 ages. If he grows into what Tucker is for the Astros, we'll all be thrilled.Don't give up on Kelenic - there are some skills there. I think he will turn out fine.
cheers
I agree re Kelenic, and I stand by my assessment that he was a disappointment this year. I don’t think many of us expected him to spend most of the year in Tacoma, given his time there last year. I hope that he plays into his potential next year. I can’t help but think the Mariners were forced to play him too soon because of Mather’s Blather back in ‘21. He may have benefited from more development time before coming up to the big club. I hope the young man learns how to have fun again.A subset of Mariners fans treat him so poorly. I really feel that we have a top 5 manager and a top 5 front office for the first time ever. Matched with a top 5 farm system and a top 10 team which is one of the youngest in the league. I'd be surprised if the Mariner's don't win 90+ games for the next 5 years.
