I hate interleague play, if your going to have it, do away with the leagues. Makes no sense that a a team trying to catch a division leader is playing interleague in the last week of the schedule. Should only be playing within division in the last month of the season.

cheers

See ya later, Freddie...

NL MVP and world series winner with the Braves, probably on to a different team. Why not? You did everything you could do in ATL, now grab the biggest bucks for the rest of your career, and maybe do each of those things again in a different place.

Yankees or Boston, which will it be?

That’s a great point

If his name had been Jesse Wanker, that would have been perfect for a franchise like the Mariners. ;)
SF

Ken Griffey Jr is the 6th highest paid player on the 2022 Cincinnati Reds payroll this year at 3.9 million.
Lol
Deferred money....

Can we remove the "funeral" that didn't happen from the thread title, or should we start a new one?

Royals play their first Cactus League game today!!! ... and some big news, bringing Zack Greinke home - he can anchor a very young, but very promising staff.

zack-greinke-excited-to-return-to-royals

cheers

Now that the funeral is over I think I'll make plans to go to some cactus games next year.

Any idea what the owners eventually gained with their lockout? Everyone seemed to acknowledge that they were assholes to begin with and other than fortifying that impression it is not clear what they gained.

Another baffling question is why does Angel Hernandez still have a job? Widely acclaimed as the worst umpire in baseball he continues to make horrible calls then makes a buffoon of himself by suing MLB for not giving him glamour assignments in the World Series. When the worst of the worst can retain their job something is amiss. Mercifully the fat assed big mouthed Joe West finally retired removing a long irritating burr from under the saddle.

That's what the players should call a strike about!
