First off, Josh, Evan, or Billy....feel free to delete/remove this post if this is outside the scope of what you want listed in the classifieds. From my end, I figured it was somewhat fishing related since this truck has taken me everyplace I've gone fishing for the last 10+ years.

Retirement present to me, I'm upgrading vehicles so I thought I'd attempt to sell this privately before my new rig shows up around March 8th.

As seen in the photos, this is a white, 2005, Ford F250 XLT, 4WD, extended cab, short (6'10") bed truck with an aluminum canopy. It has a V-10 6.8 liter gasoline engine and is an automatic.

The truck also has air conditioning, power windows and door locks, key-less entry, alarm system with remote, cruise control, power steering w/ tilt wheel, adjustable foot pedals, tow package, aftermarket CD/MP3 player, ABS brakes, powered drivers seat, heated and extendable exterior mirrors, running boards, spray in bed liner, 5th wheel towing capability, and a lockable tailgate. The canopy rack holds a couple kayaks or some lumber....about 150 pounds.

Purchased this truck used in 2011 with 63,000 miles. It continues to be a solid truck at just over 174,000 miles. It is being sold only because I want a lower mileage vehicle for longer distance towing. It is well maintained and scans of service records are available upon request. Complete records are available for face to face review and will go with the truck, if desired.

Nice rig. I have a friend who drives nothing but those Ford V10s and swears by them.


I had never owned a Ford until a year and a half ago when I bought a 99 1/2 F250 with a low mileage 7.3 diesel motor. It's been the best vehicle I've owned.

I bought the early 99 Superduty 7.3 350 ,ordered ,and got it in June of 1998. Sold it in March of 2014, nearly 16 years . I would still own that truck , if it would have had a bit more power . When I went to a bigger fifth wheel ,it just didn't have it for the mountains here in the west. It was a low mileage ( 135K ) beauty ,white crew cab short bed . Best truck to date I have owned ,basically trouble free , minor issues. IMO still the best looking truck built .
 
It's funny, if Evan hadn't been interested, I might have been myself.

Yeah I'm super happy with my truck. I drove a 2000 Dodge Ram for many years until it basically started following apart at the seams. I always loved that truck, it treated me very well over the years, but it had its issues. The Dodge interior was just cheap garbage. Plastic falling apart, cracking, and breaking. Had to keep the dash covered or it would have ended up looking like all the other Dodge dashes of that era. Just felt cheap and gimmicky.

When I bought my Ford I was shopping specifically for a 7.3 but really lucked out stumbling onto this one. It was a one owner truck, owned by a retired air force guy who lived and breathed motors. He lived in one of those small apartment type houses that sit on top of a massive shop, and his shop was amazing. Could eat dinner off the floor no problem. Spotless. Every tool imaginable laid out and labeled on the walls. Several motorcycles and snow bikes all on their own stands. He had owned this truck his entire life and had upgraded literally everything that could be upgraded.

The only thing I wasn't a fan of was that it was lifted and on 37s, I specifically did not want a lifted truck. Not only didn't I need one, but it seemed in shopping that most of the lifted ones were owned by younger guys who lifted them, threw a tuner on it, and then just abused it everywhere they went. I made an exception for this lifted truck due to the peace of mind I got from the owner and how well he treated it, as well as the price I was able to get it for. I simply couldn't pass it up.

This truck is a bit older than the Dodge I was driving but the interior seems brand new compared to the Dodge. Everything is just rock solid. 176k miles is nothing on these motors when well maintained, and this one came with maintenance records dating back to the day he bought it. Damn thing is powerful as hell and the fastest vehicle I've ever owned, even though I drive it like a baby. When I put my foot into it for any reason it'll damn near scare me. I had to replace the batteries last summer, and have done a single oil change so far, but that's been it. (I don't drive much at all really). I also installed some running board/steps as getting into it was a PIA, especially with a bum knee.

I've even come to love the height of the lifted truck. Once I got used to the visibility I really enjoy it.

I got it for an absolute steal, which is not normally my luck. Guy was divorced and moving back east and didn't want to take it with him. Plus he had just ordered one of those new Jeep trucks. At that price I was very comfortable and felt I couldn't lose, especially after shopping these trucks for a while prior to finding this one. At this point I couldn't be happier with the purchase.

This is the only picture I could find of it , there’s more somewhere. Picking up my first and smaller Montana fifth wheel . When I bought my second Montana fifth wheel , it was a lot heavier, and the 7.3 struggled a bit . If I would stayed with the size of the one in the picture, the truck did okay with it .

I swooped 1999 wsu fleet 7.3 f250, before the pandemic. A little warn but only 135k. NIce enough and fair enough... but wish I found Nick's. :)

Just a great run of years for those trucks, and obviously society was humming... a ton of em sold...and sold... again.

They were very popular when they changed to the new body style in the early 99's with that 7.3 Powerstroke . I waited a few months for it ,and there were no chip shortages in those days . :) The only weak link on them was that 4R100 transmission . Early on it was tough to keep the temperature down on mine towing , I went to the much larger 6.0 transmission cooler , and intercooler. Great improvement . If I would of kept that truck , I would of went with the BTS transmission . And there are days when I wished I had ,especially now I am having an emission issue with my Ram diesel .
 
I did upsize the cooler but dont have the typical gauge stack installed so am not sure if I ever push temps. Tranny is holding up so far and I tend to go easy although they do like to be worked (the 7.3 not the tranny).

My first and hopefully last diesel. It should meet my needs for quite some time.

I had the three gauges , transmission temp, ETG ,and boost . I did a bit to it ,went with AIS intakes . 4" turbo black exhaust ,and the DP tuner . Truck ran well, but just didn't have on mountain grade with a 38' fifth wheel, Don't get me wrong it did well with my previous fifth wheels that were shorter ,and weighted less. The biggest problem was ETG's it had more ,but couldn't run it that hard because of the ETG's. There were things I could of done , but having had it nearly 16 years ,I wanted a new truck .

IMO that Ford truck body style ,with a 2" level in the front , just a size ,maybe two size bigger tire , custom wheels, nothing crazy , makes for a nice looking truck . But it was noisy , smelly ,and smoky with that tuner . I sure don't mind how quiet the new ones are ,and not having to shut down at a drive thru . :)
