2 Rods on a River

I typically carry 3 rods fully rigged on rivers. The inconvenience of it is outweighed by the advantage, imo. I usually have a Euro, dry, and either streamer, or big indo setup. I can cover the water column…..fish at my feet, and out to the middle of the river simply by grabbing another rod.

Now, on smaller streams I may only carry one rod, but I fish mostly big rivers

So I did buy one of the O’pro 3rd hand. This is a test fit at home.
Slight difficulty getting a 1” belt threaded, used the one for my wading staff holder. Could it come off? I seriously doubt it but who knows.
It does swivel 360 degrees, has a lock button so you really can’t lock it except certain angles, I didn’t test to see how many angles, thinking a total of 8.
My Dragontail Kaida pressure fits very well, then also have the bungee cord for total security. Echo 4wt 9’ fits just as securely.
Placing a rod into holder is easy, much better than the Smith Creek holder I have been using for changing flies midstream. One could turn it so a rod is behind you level or angle up, out of the way. Might be better break a rod in half, use hair ties and place in holder.
If only using one rod, 10 times better than the Smith Creek rod holder for changing flies, etc. totally out of the way, secure. But if carrying 2 rods, still need to use the Smith Creek. Which has fallen off twice because the attachment bar isn’t very long to the closure clasp.

I'm in the camp of carrying 2 rods and stuffing one down my waders (front or back depending). I like to carry a 3 or 4 wt for dries and a 5 or 6 wt for nymphing/streamer fishing.

For sure I tangle up from time to time but I like the speed of switching and having a lighter weight set-up for the dry-fly action. When walking the bank or actually bushwhacking i have the rods in hand or packed away etc...
 
I'll sometimes seperate the rod into two pieces, keeping it all setup with my flies, and just stuff it into a case with a shoulder strap. Kind of anoying, but it works.

I usually have mine angled behind me in roughly a 45 degree up angle.

The only time the holder came close to falling off my belt was when I didn't have it fully attached.
