There are five little brook trout lakes just below 5,000 feet near Stevens Pass on a way trail. I fished the biggest one last fall. On that trip I looked down and saw rises on this small lake. Decided to visit it today.

it was warm and buggy (had to wear a headnet) but the brookies were cruising the weedy shallows. There's one in the center-right of this picture.

Found a grassy point to cast from. This is unusual for a high lake.

Caught many colorful brookies on an 8'3" Sharpes Wilson International staggered ferrule bamboo fly rod, intermediate line and size 14 wet flies (teal and red, grouse and mallard, grouse and green, hardy's favorite - I don't think fly mattered). The fish were looking up but skittish. I had to drop to 2 lb floro. Phil K would have done well with his dry ant.

Had the lake to myself. A great day.
