This rod was the pre model 290 version by South Bend. It was built when Wes Jordan was running the bamboo rod shop for South Bend before he left for Orvis.
When I got the rod, the cork grip was in horrible condition as were all the wraps and eyes and finish. The South Bend markings were all but nonexistent so I refinished the rod after installing a new cork grip. I used gold and red silks for the wraps and added an 8mm red agate stripper guide. Both tips are slightly short. One by 3/4” and the other by 1 1/4”. There’s comes nickel/silver sliding band reel seat has the oval South Bend logo stamped on it and is in very nice condition for 100 plus years old!
There’s comes in a new red rod bag I made and an LL Bean rid tube.
Im asking $250 for the rod paid through PayPal if you want it shipped. I’m charging $25 plus the insurance whatever that comes to. I’m shipping the rod with an Apple Air Tag and will refund $25 when I see the Air Tag is on its way back. USPS’s tracking is horrible that the reason for the Air Tag.
